Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about using the job board, AI tools, newsletter, alerts, and employer services.
General
- What is QA Testing Jobs?
- A global QA jobs board for manual testers, automation testers, and SDETs. QATestingJobs adds curated listings, filters, alerts, and newsletter coverage for QA and software testing careers.
- Which regions do you cover?
- We highlight roles across North America, Europe, UK/Ireland, India, and Asia-Pacific. Filters and tags surface remote and visa-friendly options.
- How often are listings updated?
- New roles are ingested daily and expired ones are closed as soon as partners flag them or they pass our expiry checks.
- Do I need an account to use the site?
- You can browse and apply without an account. Create one to save jobs, track applications, manage alerts, and access resume tools.
- Where does the Applications workflow live now?
- Your signed-in workflow now centers on Applications at /account/tracker, and the public overview lives at /applications. Archived kits remain available at /account/tracker/archived-kits.
- Can I use Sign in with Apple if I already signed up with email or Google?
- For now, keep using your original sign-in method. Apple account linking is not yet available, so using Apple for an existing email or Google account may create a separate account.
- How do you vet jobs?
- We prioritize reputable companies and recruiters, remove obvious duplicates or scams, and close roles that return errors or invalid apply URLs.
AI & ATS score
- What is the ATS match score?
- It is a 0–100 estimate of how well your resume aligns with a specific job description, including keyword fit and experience alignment. It is informational, not a guarantee.
- How should I use the score?
- Use it as a guide to decide whether to tailor your resume or focus on a different role. Humans make the final decision.
- Does the score replace a recruiter’s review?
- No. It is a directional signal to help you optimize for ATS and clarity, but it cannot predict hiring outcomes.
- What is AI resume tailoring?
- AI tools can suggest edits to summaries, bullet points, and keywords based on a job description. You should always review and edit for accuracy.
- What is AI Search on the jobs page?
- AI Search lets you type a natural-language request like "remote Playwright jobs in the UK" and maps it into supported filters plus search text. It is assistive query help, so you should still review the visible results and filters before acting.
Applications & PAKit
- What is PAKit?
- PAKit is the Pro artifact set you can generate from Applications. It uses the selected role, resume context, and workflow state to produce stronger application materials and interview prep.
- What is Applications?
- Applications at /account/tracker is the signed-in board for saved roles and active applications. It groups jobs by stage, keeps resume and ATS context attached to each role, and gives you one place to start PAKit, mark progress, and return to past work.
- How do I generate a PAKit?
- Open a role from Applications, attach the right resume or match if needed, and start PAKit from there. Older legacy account links route into the same tracker-based workflow.
- What is in the Job Post tab?
- Job Post shows the original role description and context used for generation. Use it as your source-of-truth while reviewing every other tab so your messaging stays aligned with the employer’s requirements.
- What is in the Score tab?
- Score shows your ATS-style match breakdown, including overall similarity, title match, experience alignment, and must-have/nice-to-have coverage. It also highlights missing keywords and gives a practical sequence for improving your score.
- What is in the Resume tab?
- Resume shows the resume snapshot that was evaluated for this kit. This helps you verify what content was actually used, so you can edit the right resume before recomputing score or regenerating outputs.
- What is in the Cover Letter tab?
- Cover Letter includes Safe and Bold variants for the same role. You can switch variants, edit copy directly, save updates, and copy text for applications while keeping claims accurate to your real experience.
- What is in the Proof Map tab?
- Proof Map links each requirement to supporting resume evidence and marks it as Covered or Gap. For gaps, it shows mitigation guidance so you can close weak points before applying or interviewing.
- What is in the Skim Summary tab?
- Skim Summary is a high-speed prep brief with concise talking points. Like the cover letter, it supports Safe/Bold variants and can be edited and saved to match your communication style.
- What is in the Company One-Pager tab?
- Company One-Pager provides a compact markdown brief with source links, useful for recruiter calls and interview prep. It gives quick business context so your answers are more company-specific.
- What is in the Interview Q&A tab?
- Interview Q&A provides a role-tailored question set with category/difficulty filters, rationale, and answer outlines. You can expand individual questions and copy answer structures for practice.
- What is in the Checks & Fixes tab?
- Checks & Fixes runs quality checks across generated outputs and labels issues by severity (Critical, Warning, Info). Where available, you can apply targeted AI fixes, then review changes before final use.
- Can I export my PAKit outputs?
- Yes. Generated kits can be exported from the workspace in PDF or DOCX format. Review tabs first, finalize edits, then download the format you want to share or archive.
- What are archived kits?
- Archived kits are completed or older PAKit runs that have been moved out of the main active workflow. You can browse them from /account/tracker/archived-kits in read-only mode and download completed exports when available.
Resumes & exports
- Which export formats are supported?
- PDF is available to everyone. DOCX export may require a paid plan or eligibility.
- Can I delete a resume?
- Yes. You can delete resumes from your account, and we will remove the file from storage.
- Why does my resume look different after AI edits?
- AI suggestions can change wording or structure to improve clarity and relevance. Always review and keep what is truthful and accurate.
